Rotana to establish a new five-star hotel in the commercial capital of Tanzania

The company’s portfolio in Africa currently includes several projects distributed between Mauritania, Tripoli, Morocco, and Algeria.

The capital of East African state, Tanzania is set for a new 5 star hotel to mark its growth and development as it continues to seek investors in its premises. Dar es Salaam has be poised by Rotana Hotel Management Corporation (Rotana) of the UAE as a perfect location for the new five-star hotel and serviced apartments.

The 65,000 square meters property will include 191 luxurious hotel rooms and suites and 63 serviced apartments spread over 24 floors and will be located at MNF Square in Dar es Salaam’s business district.

Omer Kaddouri, President and CEO of Rotana commented “The property in Tanzania falls in line with our strategic goal to operate 100 hotels by 2020. Tanzania has tremendous potential and we are anticipating an excellent response for our debut project in the country.”

 “Dar es Salaam is a business hub and a key gateway to Tanzania’s safari destinations and the hotel will cater to both, resident and visiting business guests as well as tourists,” Kaddouri added.

Rotana was founded in 1992 and opened its first property in Abu Dhabi in 1993 and has since then expanded in the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and Eastern Europe.

The company’s portfolio in Africa currently includes several projects distributed between Mauritania, Tripoli, Morocco, and Algeria.

The company has also expressed interest in expanding in Sub-Saharan Africa. There are currently 3 5-star hotels in Dar es Salaam operating under the brands of Hyatt, and Serena.
