Tanzania, Jan 22 – Leading global telecommunications company, Bharti Airtel has registered a 5.1 per cent increase in revenue for its operations in Africa on the annual calendar to record $783 million for its budgetary Q3.
The New Delhi based company also saw its subscribers’ tally go up to 84.1 million, a 4.7 percent increase on the same. The reports suggest the telecom is offering competitive services especially in data service that has captured the attention of many subscribers.
The competitive data packages saw the number of data customers increase to 23.3 million, recording a 39.4 per cent. Despite poor network signals in some areas, the data services have been the most purchased services with the dynamics change of technology and innovation and the use of social media platform. The data usage per customer rose to 48.7 per cent high in the same quarter.
Online money transfer one of the most convenient ways to send and receive money in the business, recorded major improvements. Airtel Money transactions went up 35.5 per cent to mark 472 million in the company’s fiscal Q3.
Bharti Airtel set up close to 190 network towers to improve the connectivity of the signals and ensure there are no delays or disconnection for the communication to be effective. A number of customers had raised concerns on the poor signals despite the bevy of affordable prices in their services.
More so, the company launched 4G networks in around 4 countries for better operations and looks to add the tally to the remaining operational centres.
