Rwanda, Jan 18 – Rwanda will be enjoying a myriad of opportunities this year as their relationship with China continues to get deeper in the process. The two have worked together for quite some time now, enjoying a fruitful partnership. More talks have generated in the process more developments on stage to take place.
China has been a major financial injector in Rwanda’s project, raising the performance indicator in the East Africa region. Rwanda Government has worked closely with the Chinese government with both imbibing each other’s culture and offer a platform for business opportunities to enhance better economies.
China has been a key player in Rwanda’s mining of key natural resources, helping the sub-Saharan country to access and harness potential minerals. China is a powerhouse in extractive, energy and mining and has established a number of prints in the Africa continent. A number of infrastructures have been constructed by Chinese companies, as they continue to manage other projects.
A number of amenities in Rwanda will be improved and funded by China, including hospitals for better health care. The setting up of wells to provide clean water for domestic use will be looked into this year, as Rwanda districts face unfavorable climatic conditions. Farmers will benefit from such projects for their livestock and agricultural practices.
A notable smart move in the bilateral objectives this year will be the launch of flights to China by Rwanda’s national carrier. RwandAir is adamant the plans will kick off in June this year, as the two countries forecast to strengthen their trading ties. This will increase both parties’ foreign revenue with increased flights to China opening other opportunities.
In the coming soon Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, Rwanda has been asked to participate in the event to gain knowledge and information as they stand a chance to strike deals with other partners present at the conference.
